My Designer Origin Story

I've always been curious about how things work and driven to create. In second grade, I mailed $15 worth of pennies and dimes to buy a Scholastic experiment kit. Yup, I counted every coin, licked the seal myself, and probably gave some postal worker a backache. That's some high-level commitment to explore and create if you ask me. Not much has changed, other than the fact that I've traded mailing envelopes for digital payments and experiment kits for all sorts of AI tools (no seriously, I created an AI song). Curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving drive me. Designing products for a living feels like a no-brainer.

Current Role

I'm currently leading product design for the agency vertical at CarePortal, supporting agency workers with creating community requests to meet needs for vulnerable kids and families.

Experience

Before that, I designed for complex defense industry systems, a B2B SaaS, and a fintech AI startup. And before that, I got my bachelor's in Human Systems Engineering where I studied the interplay between human behavior and technology, with coursework in product design and human-computer interaction. As a student in quarantine, I opened my first Figma file, and a few months later designed my first app.

Great design is about balancing creativity with strategy, making the complex feel simple. If you're looking for designs that make a real impact, I'd love to connect.
