The Challenge
Church responders sign up to help meet needs for vulnerable families, but most never respond to their first request. Without clear guidance on how the platform works or confidence in the response process, new users would become dormant before taking the core action they joined to do.
My Role
I designed a dashboard with an onboarding checklist, FAQ, and organizational leader contacts to guide new users from setup to their first family response.

Impact
Tackled user drop-off at the critical first moment: New users now have immediate clarity on what to do first and why, addressing the confusion that was causing early inactivity.
Designed to build confidence for responding to family requests (the key action): The checklist guides users through setup, training on respectful engagement, and their first request—preparing them to help families with dignity and assurance.
Created layered support to remove barriers: Checklist tasks, FAQ answers, and direct leader contacts give users multiple ways to get help before questions become blockers.
Designed each element to build momentum: Every task drives users toward the core goal of completing their first response and establishing ongoing engagement habits.
The Solution
A guided dashboard that transforms the "what now?" moment into a clear path forward. New users see an actionable checklist that introduces core concepts, provides dignity-focused training, demonstrates the response flow, and connects them with support—all designed to build confidence and drive that critical first action.
